Tuesday, February 6

Boy am I tired of winter! It snowed this morning (surprise!) and everything was really icy and then slushy even though the sun came out, so I used the treadmill.

I walked for 2 minutes,
ran for 20 minutes, walked for 1 minute,
ran for 20 minutes, walked for 1 minute,
ran for 10 minutes,
then finished for a total of 55 minutes.

“Run” time: 50 minutes

Walk time: 5 minutes

I don’t really consider running on the treadmill the same as running outside!

Tomorrow we’re getting a big storm. I’m also supposed to be getting an endoscopy, so no running for me! (We’ll see how that goes!)

Friday, February 2

I went walking with my friend at Vassar Farms. We walked for nearly an hour.

Yesterday it was in the 20s and the wind chill was cold. I’m tired of running in the cold, and so I took a day off.

Sunday, February 4

Today I went out around 12.40 p.m. It was cloudy with light snow and 35°F, with a humidity of 64 percent, a dew point of 25°F, and winds S at 7 mph (wind chill of 30°F).

I walked for 2 minutes,
ran for 10 minutes, walked for 1 minute,
ran for 10 minutes, walked for 1 minute,
ran for 10 minutes, walked for 1 minute,
ran for 11 minutes,
then walked home for a total of 47 minutes.

Run time: 41 minutes

Walk time: 6 minutes

Happy Valentine’s Day! 🙂

Two things have happened since I last posted: It’s snowed and I had a cold. So, to recap:

Thursday: Snow (and its sister, shoveling) (Total: 12 inches)
Friday: Feeling sick
Saturday: Definitely sick (a cold)
Sunday: More snow (and more shoveling) (Total: 3-5 inches)
Monday: Beginning to feel better

Today, even though it was a beautiful, sunny day out, I went walking on the treadmill for a half hour. Tomorrow or Thursday I’ll go outside. They are forecasting 50°F by Sunday!

Here’s a pic of the blizzard from Thursday!

Monday, October 19

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Saturday I went kayaking with my friend on the Hudson River. We didn’t really go very far. It was kinda windy, and we got out of the river just in time to see whitecaps due to the increased wind gusts.

Sunday was pitiful. I’m sure my Canadian friend will laugh when she sees this news. Guess what we had the displeasure of seeing?

It was horribly cold and windy with snow showers. I spent most of the day bundled up in my house watching The Closer, season 4, although I did meet a friend for a hot chocolate at Barnes & Noble.

Today I went out around 4.15 p.m. It was sunny and 52°F, with a humidity of 37 percent, a dew point of 26°F, and wind gusts up to 7.6 mph. Since I didn’t do my intervals yesterday, I did them today.

I walked for 2 minutes;
ran for 10 minutes;
sprinted for 1 minute;
ran/jogged for 2 minutes;
sprinted for 1 minute;
ran/jogged for 2 minutes;
sprinted for 1 minute;
ran/jogged for 2 minutes;
sprinted for 30 seconds;
ran/jogged for 2 minutes;
sprinted for 30 seconds;
ran/jogged for 2 minutes;
sprinted for 30 seconds;
ran until the 33 minute mark;
then walked home for a total of 36 minutes.

I feel like I have a bowling ball attached to me. I don’t know why, but this run was one of those where I had to push myself to finish. For some reason I felt as if I were running with 300 pounds attached.

I went out around 1.15 p.m. It was cloudy and 45 degrees F, with a wind chill of 38 degrees F. And, “they” are predicting SNOW tonight (UGH!!!!).

I ran a different route today – similar to yesterday’s route, but I extended it a little.

I walked for 5 minutes;
ran for 23 minutes;
then walked home for a total of 31 minutes.

Run time: 23 minutes

Walk time: 8 minutes

I hope we don’t have to get the snow shovels out again!! This is not a funny April Fool’s joke!

Monday, March 30

In the words of I Refuse to Follow Your Blog‘s blogger, my weekend was, in one word, pathetic.

I was woken up by my husband at 3.30 a.m. Saturday morning. “The dog needs to go out,” he told me. I dutifully took the dog out, and stumbled back to bed. But something wasn’t right. I smelled a weird smell. Frankly, I thought one of the cats had farted (yes, that’s a thing), but it didn’t go away. I finally turned the light on and found a big pile of dog doodoo in the spare bedroom.

I didn't mean to, mum. Really I didn't!

I didn’t mean to, mum. Really I didn’t!

By the time I’d cleaned it up, I was tired but awake, so I went downstairs and watched TV while sleeping intermittently. The poor girl had to go out again in two hours, and then at 8 a.m. I called the vet. She’s now on a diet of Hill’s Science Diet I/D canned food and some antibiotics.

Saturday was cold (not as cold as February, of course!), snowy, and blustery, so I did not go out running. I did, however, do Day 2 of Yoga with Adriene (I did Day 1 on Friday).

We ended up going out Saturday night, so by the time I got to bed, it was late (midnight or so). Then I had to get up at 7 a.m. for church (I sing in our music ministry). It was still cold on Sunday, so I spent most of the day sleeping, and not running or doing yoga. In fact, I had gone grocery shopping and gotten gluten-free donuts, which are nothing like REAL wheat donuts – they are frozen, and you have to microwave them to get them soft. I had three of them by 1 p.m. I felt like The Blerch.

Today I went out around 1.30 p.m. it was mostly cloudy and 49 degrees F.

I went a different route today, which really didn’t work out because I had to run extra to make up for the shortage for which I didn’t account.

Anyways:

I walked for 5 minutes;
ran for 22 minutes;
then walked home for a total of 30 minutes.

Run time: 22 minutes

Walk time: 8 minutes

When I cool down, I’ll try Day 3 of Yoga with Adriene.

Friday, March 20

So, it’s the first day of spring, and it’s snowing.

Before the snow, I met my BFF, and we walked today for about an hour. Unfortunately, I was forgot to activate MapMyRun before my walk, so I don’t have the mileage! LOL

Happy first day of spring!
