Happy Holidays!

Unfortunately I’ve been so busy with various things (Mom had back surgery in May, I had a bad cold June/July, Mom had an accident mid-October). My mom’s doing well and is home now, but things have just been crazy. I have walked sporadically, but just started running again last week.

I exercised on Friday (12/13) and Monday (12/16). Unfortunately yesterday we had icy weather, so I ran in the street to avoid the ice, since I don’t want to break my arm again!

Today I went out around 3 pm. I got a late start because we had a snow squall. Anyways, It was sunny/cloudy and 30°F, with a humidity of 72 percent, a dew point of 22°F, and winds WSW at 9 mph (wind chill of 21°F).

I walked for 10 minutes,
ran for 1 minute, walked for 4 minutes,
ran for 1 minute, walked for 4 minutes,
ran for 1 minute, walked for 4 minutes,
ran for 2 minutes (with a break in between, as I chatted with a neighbor),
then walked home for a total of 30 minutes.

Run time: 5 minutes

Walk time: 25 minutes

Saturday, June 15

I went out around 6.15 p.m. It was cloudy and 77°F, with a humidity of 37 percent, a dewpoint of 49°F, and winds SW at 9 mph with a little bit of sprinkles.

I walked 6 minutes, ran 4 minutes,
walked 5 minutes, ran 4 minutes,
walked 4 minutes, ran 5 minutes,
then walked home for a total of 32 minutes.

Run time: 13 minutes

Walk time: 19 minutes

Wednesday, June 12

I went out around 6.20 p.m. It was mostly sunny and 72°F, with a humidity of 41 percent, a dew point of 47°F, and winds S at 7 mph.

I walked for 3 minutes, ran for 2 minutes,
I walked for 3 minutes, ran for 2 minutes,
I walked for 3 minutes, ran for 2 minutes,
I walked for 3 minutes, ran for 2 minutes,
I walked for 3 minutes, ran for 4 minutes,
then walked home for a total of 31 minutes.

Run time: 12 minutes

Walk time: 19 minutes

It felt pretty good! At first I wasn’t sure this regime was going to work, but I’m more confident now.

Monday, June 10

I went out around 1 p.m. It was cloudy and 73°F, with a humidity of 67 percent, a dew point of 62°F, and winds  ESE at 9 mph. It also began to sprinkle during my run.

I walked for 3 minutes, ran for 2 minutes (5 times),
then walked home for a total of 28 minutes.

Run time: 10 minutes

Walk time: 18 minutes

Thursday, June 6

Hi there!

I went out around 6.40 p.m. It was mostly cloudy and 76°F, with a humidity of 62 percent, a dew point of 60°F, and winds WNW at 3 mph.

I walked for 10 minutes,
ran for 3 minutes, walked for 2 minutes,
ran for 3 minutes, walked for 2 minutes,
ran for 3 minutes, walked for 2 minutes,
ran for 3 minutes,
then walked home for a total of 33 minutes.

Well, here’s for another try! It’s a new year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

I am going to try to do something every day. Yesterday I walked the dog (although technically it’s not exercise–she’s very slow!).

I went out around 7.50 a.m. It was sunny and 27°F, with a humidity of 69 percent, a dew point of 18°F, and winds ENE at 4 mph( wind chill of 22°F).

I walked for 2 minutes,
ran for 10 minutes, walked for 1 minute,
ran for 10 minutes, walked for 1 minute,
ran for 2 minutes,
then walked home for a total of 27 minutes.

Run time: 22 minutes

Walk time: 5 minutes

I went out around 1.15 p.m. It was sunny and 33°F, with a humidity of 37 percent, a dew point of 9°F, and winds NW at 13 mph (wind chill of 23°F).

I walked for 10 minutes,
ran for 1 minute, walked for 4 minutes,
ran for 1 minute, walked for 4 minutes,
ran for 1 minute, walked for 4 minutes,
ran for 1 minute,
then walked home for a total of 30 minutes.
