Monday, March 30

In the words of I Refuse to Follow Your Blog‘s blogger, my weekend was, in one word, pathetic.

I was woken up by my husband at 3.30 a.m. Saturday morning. “The dog needs to go out,” he told me. I dutifully took the dog out, and stumbled back to bed. But something wasn’t right. I smelled a weird smell. Frankly, I thought one of the cats had farted (yes, that’s a thing), but it didn’t go away. I finally turned the light on and found a big pile of dog doodoo in the spare bedroom.

I didn't mean to, mum. Really I didn't!

I didn’t mean to, mum. Really I didn’t!

By the time I’d cleaned it up, I was tired but awake, so I went downstairs and watched TV while sleeping intermittently. The poor girl had to go out again in two hours, and then at 8 a.m. I called the vet. She’s now on a diet of Hill’s Science Diet I/D canned food and some antibiotics.

Saturday was cold (not as cold as February, of course!), snowy, and blustery, so I did not go out running. I did, however, do Day 2 of Yoga with Adriene (I did Day 1 on Friday).

We ended up going out Saturday night, so by the time I got to bed, it was late (midnight or so). Then I had to get up at 7 a.m. for church (I sing in our music ministry). It was still cold on Sunday, so I spent most of the day sleeping, and not running or doing yoga. In fact, I had gone grocery shopping and gotten gluten-free donuts, which are nothing like REAL wheat donuts – they are frozen, and you have to microwave them to get them soft. I had three of them by 1 p.m. I felt like The Blerch.

Today I went out around 1.30 p.m. it was mostly cloudy and 49 degrees F.

I went a different route today, which really didn’t work out because I had to run extra to make up for the shortage for which I didn’t account.

Anyways:

I walked for 5 minutes;
ran for 22 minutes;
then walked home for a total of 30 minutes.

Run time: 22 minutes

Walk time: 8 minutes

When I cool down, I’ll try Day 3 of Yoga with Adriene.

We actually got up to 40 degrees F yesterday! I was able to chip some of the ice away, too! Today it’s 22 degrees F with a wind chill of 11 degrees F, so back to the cold weather.

Sunday, February 15

After church this morning, I went shopping at the grocer’s, where the fire alarm went off. No big deal, except it’s one of the coldest days of the year. What amazed me were the number of people who would go to one entrance and try to gain entry, then go to the other entrance to try to gain entry, when the manager wouldn’t let anyone in via either entrance.

It’s pretty darn cold. As I waited outside the grocer’s this morning, I reminded myself that I’d survived worse temperatures in Minneapolis while waiting for the bus on my way to work!

It’s very icy here, and cold. Here’s an example of the ice:

And here’s today’s weather:

Frankly, I would have run outside, but there’s still a plethora of snow on the ground.

I went on the treadmill again, at around 12.50 p.m.

Monday, January 26

I went out around 1 p.m. (when it began to snow, although you could also see the sun!). The Weather Channel says:

Weather 2015.01 26A

and the forecast is:

Oh yay!

Anyways:

I walked for 5 minutes;
ran for 4.5 minutes; walked for 1 minute;
ran for 4.5 minutes; walked for 1 minute;

then walked home for a total of 32 minutes.

Walk time: 14 minutes

I wore my trail running shoes because the sidewalks were sure to be covered with a wispy blanket of snow.

Hope you are having a great Monday!

It feels like this out:

Usually, when our river is frozen, there’s a hugely cold breeze whipping about. That’s cold. It makes me want to stay inside the house and not go out! But, I shouldn’t complain – at least it hasn’t snowed!

Anyways, I went out around 2.45 p.m. It was mostly sunny and 24-26 degrees F with a slight wind chill. I wanted to increase my run, but my gut told me to stick it out one more day.

I walked for 5 minutes;
ran for 4.25 minutes; walked for 1 minute;
ran for 4.25 minutes; walked for 1 minute;
ran for 4.25 minutes; walked for 1 minute;
ran for 4.25 minutes;
then walked home for a total of 32.5 minutes.

Walk time: 15.5 minutes

Happy Saturday!
