I went running outside today! Woohoo!
I went out around 9.10 a.m. I had just taken the dog to my parents’ house (just because she loves going there!) and stopped at Vassar Farms to go running. It is nice to run here in the winter, because the main trail is usually plowed. We got about 7 inches of snow yesterday. Oh joy. Apparently, we’ve received around 4 feet of snow this winter thus far. Here is the evidence!
Today I noticed that the Vassar College staff had added some emergency telephone beacons to the trail, which is really nice because it is somewhat isolated. You can see one in the second picture, on the left (it’s got a blue pole). In the distance in the middle of the picture are the old barns.
Anyways, it was mostly cloudy when I started, but as you can see, it became mostly sunny upon my return. I’m really glad I used the treadmill last week, because I could feel my knee hurting just a bit! I have to say that nothing beats running outside, though. The temperature is 28 degrees F with a wind chill of 17 degrees F.
I walked for 6 minutes;
ran for 8 minutes; walked for 2 minutes;
ran for 9 minutes;
then finished walking for a total of 30.5 minutes.
Run time: 17 minutes
Walk time: 13.5 minutes
So glad I could run outside!!
